Road Trip Pictures (5/1/14)
JR and I made a trip to Billings on Thursday evening. I took my camera because I’ve been wanting to get pictures of the baby cows and sheep that are everywhere. Well, the sheep weren’t in the field, and the baby cows were all lying down! Here’s what I got on our little “road safari.” Keep in mind, the driver wouldn’t stop the car, so these were taken “on the fly.” All of them were taken on the way home, somewhere in the neighborhood of 7-8pm. The light was beautiful. JR did slow down for the up-close cow pictures.
JR pulled over on a side road so I could take the next two pictures. They may be two of the best I’ve taken (in my own opinion).
I love the sun flares and the light in the horse’s tail.
I love the light in the fuzzy hairs outlining the horse, and I love the silo on the horizon line. That golden light, my goodness how pretty it was. Thanks to JR for waiting a little while. It took me a few minutes to adjust my settings to get this the way I wanted it!
Look who we saw just outside of Red Lodge! “Eagle-Eye” JR spotted this moose:
Lastly, a picked-clean deer skeleton on the side of Hwy 78:
I’m going to get a reputation for being fascinated by dead things. I like to call this “sciency.” I guess it’s just interesting to me to see and consider these harsh realities on a daily/weekly basis. Let’s just say I hope I don’t come back in another life as any type of wildlife.
What do you guys think? What is your favorite picture?
